We're home from vacation and back to work. :( Daniel enjoyed his first trip to Florida! It was fun to see him discover new things around him. He LOVED the pool. The minute he got in it he started squeaking, splashing, and smiling. The beach was the opposite though...not a big fan. He wasn't too pleased about the sand and didn't like it when we had him sit by the shore for pictures. He warmed up to the sand a little bit by the end of our 'beach day.' He sat on the edge of a towel and picked at the sand with his fingers. He liked watching the seagulls--he pointed at them and made little peep-peep sounds.

The condo was full for the first few days of the trip. Matt's parents were finishing up their vacation but had to head home on Sunday. The three of us arrived on Thursday (the 3rd) and Matthew, Kelly, & Gracie arrived with my mom on Friday evening. My mom was able to join us for the week---my dad and Scott were still away in Egypt...
We had a few meals out, hung out at the pool, attempted the beach, took some walks, saw alligators and manatee, I read a WHOLE book(for pleasure) for the first time in over a year, and Matt & Daniel joined Matthew, Kelly, & Gracie at the zoo for a morning.
Daniel took his first few steps after we had lunch at Dixie Crossroads. That was about it though--he hasn't had many more since then. He has to find a lot more balance before he gets good at it. Pretty fun though! He was a great traveler. His ears didn't seem to bother him at all on the plane and he loved waving and smiling to everyone sitting around us.

We miss Cocoa Beach, but it's also nice to be back home again. Until next year!
