Memorial Day, Bruises, & Baseball

We've been pretty busy! It's taken me all week to post some of the pictures from Memorial Day weekend. We started out at Big Star for a night and then traveled over to Higgins Lake. I don't have as many pictures from Higgins because Daniel got a fever on Saturday night when we were there--he felt pretty rotten yet through Monday. He seems to be doing okay now---other than a runny nose and a bit of a cough. We're hoping that some nice, warm weather will get rid of the bugs.

Daniel turns 14 months old today! He has been loads of fun lately. Quite a personality. He's getting much better at walking. He is a lot less hesitant to let go of furniture and walk to where he needs to go---although he sometimes steps on a toy or trips which means we have had lots of bumps and bruises lately. I guess that comes with this stage. He bounces back pretty well and wants to go go go!

Matt has him trained pretty well with knowing what baseball is all about. He can pick out a baseball anywhere....tv, magazines, books, or his real baseball that he loves to play with. We think that he even recognizes Rod and Mario's voices on tv when the Tigers are on! He turns his head, points to the tv and says ba ba (baseball) with huge smile on his face. Basketball comes in a close second--loves to play basketball in the living room and with this bathtime basketball hoop from Uncle Scott.

It's a.....

BOY! Yep, if you were in the 70% who voted for a girl, you were wrong. We are pretty excited. Daniel will have a little buddy who is only 18 months younger than him! We had fun at the ultrasound---this little man was movin'! No wonder I have felt so much movement for the past couple of weeks! I didn't feel anything with Daniel until about 20 weeks! We think that his profile looks like Daniel's did in his ultrasound. These two brothers might look a lot alike!

Our appointment was canceled because my midwife was at the hospital delivering a baby. We go in for our full report on Monday afternoon!

Tulip Time & Mother's Day

We spent the afternoon on Thursday in Holland for the Tulip Time parade. I was there with Daniel and Matthew & Kelly took the day off to come with Gracie. The kids loved watching all of the action. We had a great spot to watch everything---my dad's office on the 2nd floor over the parade route!
On Saturday, we traveled to DeWitt for the afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day.
Sunday was spent in Holland for Mama's Day...
