happy halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! The boys enjoyed their day today---it was cold, rainy and we were stuck inside, but we were cozy and had fun carving our pumpkin! We've been taking it easy these last few days. The boys have been a bit under the weather. Swine flu? Maybe. William is in worse shape than Daniel. He's been to the doctor a few times within the last 8-9 days. He was getting better, then got a fever back. Ugh. Daniel has been talking about being Handy Manny for quite a while now, so we got him dressed up and sent him out for a little Trick-or-Treating with Matt tonight. We dressed William up in Daniel's lion costume from last year for all of 3 minutes (enough to take a picture). It was just too cold and rainy to get him outside. Check out the album with more pictures...

I'm a little behind on my blog posts, so I thought I'd share a couple more albums. Here are some photos from our baby shower for Annie last weekend. She flew in with Drew all the way from Boston for a shower...on their anniversary! We decided to do a "mail shower." Everyone sent their gift to Anne. That way they didn't have to try and lug a bunch of baby gear home on the plane! Worked out pretty well. We had an afternoon tea party to welcome baby boy Mackay into our group of friends. Can't wait to meet him in December!

I've also been saving up some photos from this Fall---a few shots from our warmer days---William in his new car, the pumpkin patch with the boys, Matt's birthday, etc. We've enjoyed it, but I feel like we went right from summer to winter! Hoping for a few nice days before the snow comes.

bittersweet

today was very happy and very sad.

we celebrated matt's 33rd birthday! had a fun breakfast in our jammies--waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. took a long walk by the lake with the boys. it was a beautiful fall morning-- cool, but not cold and some sunshine (finally)!

early this afternoon we got a call that my grandpa took a (big) turn for the worse and that he might not make it until tomorrow. he was moved to a hospice home yesterday. he had had a rough year with severe pain and multiple surgeries. matt and i were able to visit tonight about an hour before he died. he is pain free now...

we will have great memories of him!

klein=tall?

The German translation for Klein is "short." This seems to hold true for Matt's (Klein-side) family. We took William to the doctor today for his 1- year appt. She said that we can start to see genetics and make predictions around a year old. She predicts that Will may be about 6 ft. as an adult! She predicted that Daniel might be close to that as well, but possibly an inch or two shorter. Regardless, they could be the tallest Kleins in the family!

Will's stats are as follows:
Height: 31 1/2" (92nd percentile)
Weight: 24 lbs. 6 oz. (75th percentile)

This is 1 1/2" taller than Daniel at a year old and about 4 lbs. bigger! In fact, Daniel only weighs about 27 now! Big Red (Will) is catching up to his big brother!
