Snow Day!

How exciting!  Our second snow day in two weeks!  I am really glad I could be home today with Daniel.  He isn't feeling great, so it was nice to be able to take care of him.  He has a pretty nasty cold.  I took him to the doctor this morning just to make sure he didn't have another ear infection.  His ears look fine---but his cough, stuffed up nose and a fever are not so fine.  Poor little guy.  Somehow he manages to be pretty happy.  He's been all smiles this afternoon.   What a trooper.

P.S.  Daniel turns 10 months old today!  :)

Daniel bought his first pair of shoes yesterday! He's pretty proud of them.

9 month check-up

I took Daniel to the doc today for a check-up. He's doing great! Height: 29 1/4" (80th) Weight: 19 lbs. 6 1/2 oz. (35th). Our next well baby appointment is for his 1-year! Wow!

What month is it?

Is it April already? I think I could actually be okay without any more snow this winter. It was so nice out today! In between the rain showers, I made it out for a long walk with the kids (the cute, matching red coats are on loan from the Van Devens :)).

Back to school today--we enjoyed our two weeks at home, but it's got to come to an end sometime. Before you know it, we will be outside enjoying these 60 degree days again!

A lot has happened here since Christmas! We finally got the house in order, just in time for our visitors on Thursday. Mark, Allison, & Tessa stopped by (for not long enough) all the way from California! We haven't seen them in a long time and we had not met Tessa yet--it was great to see them! Thanks for stopping to see us guys! P.S. They're taller than us. He he...

Em & Mark, Lisa & Dan, Anne & Drew, Chris & YaYa, Katie & Dave, and Matt & I went out for dinner to The Green Well (delicious!), then came back to our house for dessert and drinks.

By the weekend, Daniel was feeling much much better, but Matt & I got sick. We got an annoying virus, so there wasn't much we could do for our symptoms except sleep, sleep, sleep. Thankfully, Daniel took some great, 2-hour naps and slept in until 8:30 all weekend. We were able to catch up a bit...

Last night we ventured out to a friend's house for a small, New Year's gathering. It was very low-key---just what we needed. Daniel did great--he slept upstairs the whole time and didn't wake up during the transfer back to his crib at 1:00 AM. Good boy!

We woke up today to a winter wonderland. Beautiful. Daniel and I made it to Holland for a family gathering this afternoon. Matt stayed in town to watch football with some friends. Happy New Year to you all! Go blue!
