glow worm

Did anyone ever have a glow worm doll when you were younger?  Will was our little glow worm for a couple of days.  His jaundice was at a level that the doc thought we should treat it with a bili blanket.  It worked great!  We went in to the lab for blood work two days in a row and the number went way down.  Will's coloring looks much better today and we were happy to be able to take him off the blanket.  It was a bit of a pain, but the nice thing is that in the middle of the night, I didn't have to turn on a light to nurse him.  I could see just fine with that thing on!  Thought you would like to see the pictures of him when he was glowing. :)

We are adjusting to life as a family of four.  Everyone is doing pretty good other than the fact that we are exhausted.  That is to be expected...  Daniel loves his little bother and likes to help him by putting blankets on him and giving him a gentle pat on the head once in a while.  On the other hand, Daniel doesn't quite understand what happened---the world doesn't revolve around him anymore!  He still tries to look for the baby under my shirt, but when we ask him where the baby is, he points to Will now (instead of my belly).  We noticed for the first time today a little jealousy.  I was holding Will and nursing him and he wanted me to read a book to him.  Matt offered to read the book to him, but he wanted me to do it instead--he threw a bit of a tantrum about it.  He has also been a little whiny about certain things--he is getting a lot of attention from us, but he wants to make sure that he keeps it!  Over all though, Daniel has been great.  He is a wonderful big brother!

That blanket is neat and sounds like its a bit more comfortable than just laying the baby under lights. Glad to hear that the jaundice is getting better :) The way you phrased Daniel's confusion w/not being the center of attention all the time made me chuckle....its gotta be tough for first children to get used to sharing their parent's love.
