Our little man has arrived! Yesterday morning, I woke up around 5:00 am with contractions. They continued to be about 5 mintues apart until 9:00. After that, they slowed down quite a bit but didn't go completely away. Matt went to work for the afternoon. His mom was at our house ready to babysit if things got started again. Not much happened all day! I went to my appointment at 4:15. Turns out I was 8 cm. dilated! There still was not a whole lot of activity yet, so she checked a little more and realized she was feeling butt cheeks, and not a head! Yup, our little man had found a way to turn around! He was breech! My two options were to either go to the hospital right away and get a c-section. Or go to the hospital and let the doctor do an ECV---manipulate (externally) the baby into the correct position. We opted to give the ECV a try. Luckily I was able to get my epidural prior to that experience. It was crazy! It was like the worst snake bite and kick in the stomach that you could ever have! Thank goodness I was a little numb on the belly. It was successful---they broke my water next--- and waited for contractions to pick up again. It didn't take long and I was ready to push! The best part is that it only took two contractions and four pushes to get little Will out! Yeah! We have been blessed!
We are at the hospital until tomorrow. Matt will go home tonight to be with Daniel. Big brother Daniel was here this morning to meet Will. He was very cute---very interested and curious about baby Will who he calls "bubba Woo." Then he was off doing his own thing soon after that. Ah, an 18 month old's world....

CONGRATULATIONS! Your story blows my mind.....8 cm at your appt and only mild contractions?! FOUR pushes and he was out?! I'm jealous but very happy for you. Also, happy that he was able to be "flipped" before coming out. He is beautiful and Daniel looks adorable holding him. Congrats!

Yeah! congrats on a healthy baby and mom. It is a crazy story but happy for your guys, can't wait to meet Will.
